FX Renews The Great SONS OF ANARCHY For A Third Season
The great breakout hit drama on FX, SONS OF ANARCHY has been renewed for a third season starting next September. The fictitious motorcycle gang drama has won critical praise as well high ratings for an evolving storyline that has many comparison's to Shakespeare's "Hamlet". Interestingly, in one episode, Clay, the gang's leader even uses the term, "I'll handle the little prince", in regards to his estranged relationship with his stepson and younger gang member, Jax. Nothing could be more Shakespearean than that.
This past season featured an excellent storyline of a battle between SAMCRO and a rival white supremacist group whose leader is played by Adam Arkin who use a tobacco shop as a front for their activity.
The Sons Of Anarchy supposedly keep the peace and drugs out of the small fictitious town of Charming, California while at the same time being involved in gun trafficking and other illegal activity outside of the town. Sometimes they appear as pretty normal family men, with loved ones, and normal concerns. The next minute there may be an episode of horrific violence in the show. For example, the violent rape and assault of the character played by actress Katey Sagal was very tough to watch, as well as some other horrific violent acts. However the greater freedom allowed on cable TV than the networks allows for a daring show like this to be made.
I'd strongly recommend to purchase these episodes on DVD. This is a great cable TV series here.
