Rev. Jerry Falwell Thinks That "Survival" Is The Most Important Issue For 2008

Christian right, and Moral Majority founder, Rev. Jerry Falwell, thinks that survival is the most important issue for 2008, with the War on Terrorism and other "survival" issues the most important. Falwell even admitted that he would vote for a stone cold athiest if they were a competant leader.

Falwell's remarks contrast sharply with those of Focus On The Family founder, Dr. James Dobson, who has already stated that he would not vote for John McCain, and questions the faith of possible candidate, Fred Thompson, while lauding praise on Newt Gingrich who has been married three times and who admitted to an affair while his then wife was very ill with cancer.

Suprising, Mitt Romney, the Mormon Republican candidate has had the fewst marriages of any major GOP candidate despite the once history of this faith.

Republican candidates would find it hard to run on a "family values" platform in 2008 with such multimarriage candidates, yet will likely attack Gay marriage or abortion, and run on sime sort of national security platform and exploit some of the Democrats war spending proposals which may have overplayed their hand politically.
