The Los Angeles Lakers Are Sure Looking A Lot Like NBA Champions

With their smashing defeat of the Portland Trailblazers of 121 to 96, and a 7 and 0 record, the 2010-11 season Los Angeles Lakers are sure looking a lot like an early best bet to win the NBA championship this year. In previous years, the Portland Trailblazers have matched this team pretty well. Kobe Bryant continues to be a scoring machine for the Lakers with an average of 22.9 points per game. This is his 14th season as a professional basketball player.

Pau Gasol continues to pull down big rebound numbers for the team. And Lamar Odom and other players continue to provide an excellent supporting cast for Mr. Bryant.

So far into this young season, only New Orleans and the Lakers have perfect records. No team has ever had an undefeated season. But some teams have put together streaks of 20 or more wins before a loss. But, so far the Lakers are looking like one of the strongest teams to emerge from the league this year.

Lots of games are yet to be played this year. And lots of things can change, including critical injuries to key players. But, out of the gate the Lakers sure have to feel good about where they're at.
