AntiU.S. Riots Break Out In Kabul After Military Accident

An accident involving a U.S. military truck that crashed and caused 25 deaths and damaged 15 civilian vehicles in Afghanistan has resulted in some of the worst riots in the capital city of Kabul, Afghanistan since the fall of the Taliban in 2001. It is the worst display of anti Americanism in many years and a real public relations nightmare for the U.S. military.

President Karzai has appealed for calm, but had to declare a six hour curfew as the violence only continued to escalate.

Unfortunately, both Iraq and Afghanistan have populations that are sensitive to negative events associated with the U.S., and sometimes it only takes some small event like this to spur antiU.S. crowds to take to the streets.
