Nicolas Cage Has Some Serious Money Woes
Actor Nicolas Cage is having some serious money woes right now. He's suing his former business manager for $20 million, contending that this manager failed to pay his taxes among other contentions. Now, Nicolas Cage owes $6 million in taxes. There is however a dispute whether his manager mismanaged his finances leading to this situation, or whether an overly lavish lifestyle could have resulted in this situation.
Some sources are reporting that the actor's own lavish lifestyle might have also played a role in his financial problems. Reportedly, Cage purchased two islands, more than one dozen homes, sometimes costing many millions each, at least 50 cars, a number of motorcycles, dinosaur bones, shrunken heads and collector's comic such as the first edition of ACTION comics featuring the new character Superman, which was valued at a huge amount of money. Cage did sell his comic collection in 2002 for $1.6 million. But his other purchases continued to build among other items and more lavish spending habits.
Cage also loves animals as well as fine dining. Once he spent $2,000 just for some fine caviar just for a snack as if the run of the mill $8-20 caviar wasn't good enough for his tastes. How much the spending habits of Cage or his manager have to do with his current cash crisis may be a matter of debate. But Cage is a fine actor, and all of his many fans certainly wish the actor the very best right now at this difficult time for him.
