Prince: A Few Strange Facts About The Superbowl Halftime Entertainer

Prince the workaholic halftime entertainer for today's Superbowl has some interesting facts about his personal life not known very well to the larger public. According to some public records, Prince has donated money to Republican political candidates, which is curious given that the Jehovah's Witness faith he belongs to is totally nonpolitical and most church members neither vote or serve in the military due to church teachings. Prince is also a vegan who eats no animal products.

And while Prince holds many religious values that could be best described as conservative in nature, his music has been known for inventiveness and for many sexy themes over the years, something of a contradiction in some areas.

Prince is also suffering from a painful degenerative hip condition. Whether this impairs his Superbowl performance much today, remains to be seen. But surprisingly Barry Manilow did offer a very strong tribute to Dick Clark recently, only the day before a major hip replacement surgery, so sometimes performers surprise the public despite some serious personal problems. Perhaps the most incredible example of all time was Lou Costello of Abbott & Costello going on the air with their radio program, only minutes after Costello was informed that his little girl fell in the family swimming pool and drowned. The famous statement that "The Show Must Go On" is very literal to some inspired performers.

Prince is likely to be very good today as usual, despite a few interesting personal traits.
